Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health Key Responsibilities & Duties • Assume 24-hour administrative responsibility for Behavioral Health Program management and operations. • Supervise, assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care delivery within the program. • Develop and administer comprehensive Behavioral Health programming tailored to patient demographic needs. • Ensure compliance with mental health laws, practice standards, and regulatory requirements. • Provide leadership and direction to staff, fostering professional growth and development. • Coordinate with the CNO, Administrator, and CEO to align program goals with organizational objectives. • Implement performance improvement activities to enhance program effectiveness and patient outcomes. • Evaluate personnel performance and ensure optimal utilization of resources and time. • Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to support program success. Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health Job Requirements • Current and valid Registered Nurse Licensure is mandatory. • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in psychiatric or mental health nursing preferred. • Minimum of two years’ experience in psychiatric nursing and two years in management of Behavioral Health programs. • BCLS certification upon hire and maintained annually. • Behavioral Violence Prevention certification within six months of hire and maintained annually. • Strong knowledge of mental health laws, practice standards, and the continuum of care for behavioral health treatment. • Excellent verbal, written, and management skills are essential. • Ability to develop and implement programmatic plans aligned with organizational goals and patient needs. • Sign-on bonus offered to attract top talent to the role.
