The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Director of Enrollment is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase student enrollment, strengthen student retention, and build long-term relationships with prospective and current families. This position is available on a part-time or full-time basis. This position will serve as a primary point of contact for prospective families while also working closely with students, parents, faculty, staff, and school administration to identify and address barriers that may prevent students from enrolling or remaining in our K-12 school system. Success in this position requires a collaborative, proactive, and highly communicative approach. Recruitment and retention are organizational responsibilities, and this position will help coordinate the efforts of the entire school community toward those goals. Job Responsibilities Student Recruitment — Growth • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to increase enrollment throughout the K-12 school system. • Serve as a primary point of contact and relationship manager for prospective students and their families. • Proactively identify, contact, and engage prospective families throughout the enrollment process. • Clearly communicate the benefits and opportunities available through our schools, including: • Academic programs and student achievement • Catholic faith formation and education • Athletics • Extracurricular activities • Student experiences and accomplishments • Tuition assistance and financial resources • School community and culture • Utilize all available school resources and communication channels to support recruitment, including parent meetings, presentations, print and digital communications, advertising, promotional activities, community outreach, and other enrollment initiatives. • Develop relationships with parishes, community organizations, families, alumni, and other regional partners to increase awareness of our schools. • Research and analyze the reasons families choose to enroll—or choose not to enroll—their children in our schools. • Identify opportunities to improve the prospective-family experience from initial inquiry through enrollment. • Track recruitment activity, inquiries, applications, enrollment, and other relevant metrics to measure progress and identify opportunities for improvement. Student Retention — Stability • Develop and promote a school-wide culture focused on student and family retention. • Work collaboratively with faculty, students, parents, and administration to understand why students remain enrolled and why families consider leaving. • Identify potential barriers to continued enrollment, including: • Financial concerns • Transportation • Academic or special educational needs • Student/faculty relationships • Peer relationships and school culture • Bullying or other student concerns • Family communication concerns • Other circumstances affecting a family's decision to remain enrolled • Establish proactive strategies to identify concerns before they result in a student withdrawal. • Develop appropriate intervention and follow-up processes for families who may be considering leaving the school. • Serve as a resource and advocate for students and parents by helping ensure their concerns are heard and directed to the appropriate faculty, staff, administrator, principal, pastor, or other responsible party. • Facilitate communication among families and appropriate school personnel when concerns arise. • Maintain appropriate confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive student and family matters. • Monitor retention trends and provide administration with regular feedback regarding common concerns, barriers, and opportunities for improvement. Job Requirements Recruitment • Increase student enrollment by developing programs, strengthening community engagement, and expanding awareness of the opportunities available within our K–12 school system. • Establish annual enrollment growth goals in collaboration with administration. Our current average class size is approximately 25 students, compared with approximately 65 students at one time in the past. Develop a sustainable plan to gradually increase class sizes and overall enrollment over time. • Build stronger connections with the regional community to increase visibility, attract prospective families, and encourage enrollment. Retention • Strengthen student retention by identifying and addressing barriers that may prevent students from remaining in our schools, including financial concerns, special needs, transportation, and other individual circumstances. • Establish a measurable annual retention goal, such as maintaining a 98% student retention rate, and develop strategies to consistently achieve and sustain that goal.
