Software Engineer 4 designs, develops, tests, and maintains software solutions to meet customer requirements. The role involves full lifecycle tasks such as requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation, and performance improvements. Engineers also drive process and technology improvements and uphold best practices. Key Responsibilities: • Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions to meet customer requirements • Conduct requirements analysis, documentation, error handling, and performance improvements • Collaborate with leadership, product owners, architects, and business liaisons to define requirements • Enhance existing system architecture using test-driven development practices • Research and integrate new technologies to improve design, security, and performance • Develop and optimize SQL queries, caching, and clustering for relational databases • Apply secure cloud technologies, SSL encryption, and web service integrations (SOAP/REST) • Implement DevOps best practices, including code repository branching, merging, and CI/CD pipelines • Configure and manage Apache Tomcat for Java web application hosting • Lead full-stack application development and maintain project deliverables and timelines • Identify and resolve design gaps, negotiate decisions, and ensure project success • Participate in Agile ceremonies and perform other assigned duties Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical programming experience • Mid-level experience in web-based IT solutions • Proficiency in at least two primary technical skill areas: Java and/or web programming (JSP, Servlets, JDBC, web services, mobile, Angular, React, React Native, VueJS, JSON, HTML) • Relational database design and application development experience (Oracle, DB2, etc.) including SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle APEX • Hands-on developer application server experience (Apache Tomcat, WebSphere, or other) • Proficient in using GitHub, including branching and merging • Demonstrated ability to create and execute unit tests • Object-oriented programming experience • Mid-level experience with at least one development methodology (waterfall, Agile, RUP, etc.) • Critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently on project assignments • Understanding of APIs and modern technology architecture Preferred Skills: • Java Developer Certification(s) • Oracle or DB2 Certification(s) • Experience with Oracle AEM integrations • Experience with Oracle Visual Builder • Professional experience in web-based IT solutions • Experience in mobile responsive web design • Solid knowledge of OWASP and familiarity with web application vulnerabilities • Experience with CI/CD pipeline configurations and management • Working knowledge of source control software (SVN or Git), build and deployment tools (Maven, Jenkins, Gradle) • Sharp troubleshooting skills and real-world systems deployment experience
