The Business Intelligence Engineer leads the technical design and development of the company's first enterprise data warehouse on Microsoft Fabric. They partner with BI analysts and data engineering to map data sources, validate models, and build reusable Power BI semantic models. The role supports upcoming Dynamics 365 ERP migration and drives data governance for self-service analytics. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop enterprise-scale Power BI semantic models using DAX and Tabular Editor. • Map new data sources and validate Gold-layer data against business requirements and source-system logic. • Collaborate with BI analysts and data engineering to translate business needs into dimensional models. • Write efficient DAX measures, optimize model performance, and conduct performance tuning. • Use Azure DevOps for work tracking, code repositories, pull requests, and code reviews. • Create and maintain dimensional models and star-schema designs, including grain, relationships, and hierarchies. • Profile, validate, and reconcile data using advanced SQL against source systems. • Prepare the warehouse for integration with the upcoming Dynamics 365 ERP and explore data agents built on governed semantic models. Qualifications: • Expert Power BI semantic model design and development for enterprise-scale solutions. • Strong hands-on DAX skills with emphasis on efficient measures and performance optimization. • Proficiency in Azure DevOps (Boards, Git repositories, pull requests, code review). • Experience with dimensional modeling and star-schema design (fact and dimension tables, grain, relationships, hierarchies). • Advanced SQL skills for data profiling, validation, and reconciliation against source systems.
