Project Manager for a confidential backfill at a retail organization, overseeing MDM implementation and data migration workstreams. The role requires ownership of daily execution, business requirements gathering, and proactive stakeholder communication. Success will enable program managers to step back from tactical involvement. Key Responsibilities: • Own day-to-day execution of both workstreams to free program managers • Lead business requirements gathering for MDM, capturing data needs and integration rules • Translate requirements into epics, stories, and acceptance criteria for engineers and vendors • Manage daily engineering tasks, ensuring deliverables stay on track • Capture and monitor project dependencies and risks across workstreams • Proactively communicate status, risks, and recovery options to program managers • Maintain and update project documentation in Jira and Smartsheet • Lead stand-ups and tactical meetings to identify and remove blockers • Analyze task paths to mitigate impacts and accelerate alternative work • Provide status updates to two program managers while they handle stakeholder management Qualifications: • 5+ years of project management experience (not limited to Scrum Master) • Demonstrated business requirements gathering on data migration or platform implementation projects • Go-getter mindset capable of navigating technical discussions without constant hand-holding • Genuine curiosity about system functionality, not just tracking timelines • Ability to independently determine steps from outcomes without detailed task instructions • Proactive communicator who flags risks early and volunteers information • Strong proficiency in Jira, comfortable moving from manual sheets to Jira Plans • Experience using Confluence for tracking and reporting • Familiarity with Master Data Management or large-scale data migration projects (strongly preferred) • Previous experience working with third-party implementation vendors • Background as a Business Analyst or Data Analyst prior to project management • Retail or customer data experience
