GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Develop critical job-related knowledge and skills while enrolled in law enforcement academy. Apply academy training by assisting in the enforcement of local, state, and federal laws, and ensure compliance with department policies. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Work toward completion of state certification by Police Academy and TN P.O.S.T. • Patrol property, in a vehicle or on foot, to provide security and traffic law enforcement. • Respond to emergency and non-emergency radio calls. • Render first aid at accidents; write incident/accident reports, including those of missing/stolen property and criminal activity. • Assist in conducting accident and crime investigations and the preparation of associated reports and documents. • Responsible for transportation of monies to or from Finance department • Provide public assistance, including lockout services, first aid, and vehicle jump-starts. • Provide building security, including locking and unlocking doors. • Operate miscellaneous equipment including emergency vehicles, radar, and breath alcohol analyzers. • Assist in the processing of evidence and the preparation of court cases; may provide legal testimony as required. • Write and file daily activity reports with superior officer. • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High School diploma or GED REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATES • Valid TN Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to sit, walk and stand for prolonged periods. • Must be able to lift 40 pounds at a time (more with assistance) HOSPITALITY EXPERIENCE Our goal is to provide excellent guest service to our members, guests, team members and vendors at all times.
