POSITION SUMMARY: The Lead Inspector position monitors operations to ensure they meet the standards of production and recommending adjustments to the assembly or production process. Other duties include accepting or rejecting finished items, removing items that fail to meet inspections, and ensuring quality control inspectors are doing their job. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Performs final inspection of finished product. • Conducts critical quality checks of product. • Accepts or rejects finished items. • Develops healthy atmosphere to able to effectively work and communicate with team and other departments. • Supports outfitters with information needed. • Maintains good time management to complete job duties within time set time. • Identifies and helps improve safety, quality, and delivery opportunities. • Signs-off on all Critical to Quality operations. • Reports all defects found to Management at the end of each day. • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: • Read and understand specifications • To effectively understand and be able to use a tape measurement and other measurement tools as required. • Good communication and legible handwriting are required • Ability to identify problems in a timely manner • Demonstrates attention to detail • Ability to perform and process paperwork required for position • Report and communicate inspection data • Lead and communicate with quality control inspectors TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: • N/A PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Light lifting, under 20 lbs. • Light carrying, under 20 lbs. • Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs. • Moderate carrying, 21 – 59 lbs. • Straight pulling • Pushing • Repeated bending • Reaching over shoulders • Use of fingers • Walking • Standing • Kneeling • Repeated stretching • Specific visual requirements • Ability to distinguish basic colors • Ability to distinguish shades of color • Hearing (aid permitted) WORK ENVIRONMENT • Outside and inside • Extreme heat • Extreme humidity • Extreme noise, intermittent • Dust • Fumes, smoke, or gasses • Solvents (degreasing agents) • Slippery or uneven walking surfaces INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT: • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
