Job Title Infection Prevention RN Location Valentine, NE | Critical Access Hospital Schedule / Job Type Contract (13 Weeks) | Days | Sunday – Saturday | Expected 40 hours/week Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and maintain hospital-wide programs related to safety, infection prevention and control, and emergency preparedness • Ensure compliance with CMS Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Conditions of Participation, state regulations, and applicable accreditation standards • Prepare for and support regulatory surveys, inspections, and audits • Track, trend, and report data related to safety, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness • Provide new hire and ongoing staff education across all program areas • Investigate safety events, near misses, staff injuries, and hazardous conditions; complete root cause analyses and corrective action plans Required Qualifications • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Public Health, Safety, or a related field • Active and unrestricted RN license • Ability to function in a highly collaborative, hands-on capacity serving as a key resource for staff, leadership, and medical providers Preferred Experience / Skills • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare safety, infection prevention, quality, or risk management • Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare environment • Health and safety–related certification (e.g., CIC, CHSP, CEPS, or other relevant credential) • Experience with Meditech charting system Why Join Us • Opportunity to serve in a meaningful, high-impact role within a close-knit Critical Access Hospital setting supporting rural healthcare • Collaborative environment where your expertise in infection prevention and safety directly influences patient and staff outcomes
