Job Title Travel RN – Medical / Surgical (Nights) Location Alexandria, LA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Full-Time | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required | No on-call requirement Key Responsibilities • Provide routine and complex nursing care on a basic Medical/Surgical unit, practicing independently in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and implement the nursing process, including diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients • Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner • Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources; willingness to float to other units is required Required Qualifications • Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact license • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required • Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience • Proficiency with Epic EMR • Must be willing to float to similar clinical units as needed Preferred Experience / Skills • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred • Experience working with a 5:1 or 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio • Demonstrated ability to make appropriate assignments and delegate effectively to other care providers Why Join Us • Expected weekly hours of 36 or 48 hours available, offering scheduling flexibility to fit your needs • Overtime may be available for hours worked beyond 48 per week, providing additional earning potential
