Job Title Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (Travel) Location Smyrna, TN | Acute Care – Women's Services / Labor & Delivery Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Expected 4 weekend shifts/month Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care to laboring patients in a 9-bed L&D unit with swing rooms, ORs, and an OBED, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio • Support patient-centered birth experiences, promoting vaginal birth opportunities in alignment with patient preference • Perform and assist with unit procedures including circulating in the OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management using the JADA system, and nitrous oxide • Document accurately using CPN and Meditech electronic documentation systems • Maintain required certifications: RN license, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring • Float to mother/baby or outside department for task support as needed per floating policy Required Qualifications • Active RN license • Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications required • Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing with ability to perform unit-level procedures • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care Preferred Experience / Skills • Spinning Babies training or familiarity • STABLE certification or training • Experience working within a laborist or team-based care model • Familiarity with CPN and/or Meditech documentation systems Why Join Us • Join a recognized Women's Services unit operating under a laborist team model with 24/7 midwife, dedicated CRNA, and on-call OB coverage, supported by an on-site Level 2 NICU with NNP available around the clock • Be part of a team committed to personalized birth experiences, couplet care, breastfeeding support with donor milk availability, and participation in quality improvement initiatives
