Job Title Registered Nurse – PCU / Stepdown Location Eureka, CA | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 6:00 AM) Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting • Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care between ICU and general medical-surgical floors • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans • May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility as needed • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day Required Qualifications • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Compact license must be in hand at time of submission • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown required • Must live within 50 miles of the facility to be considered under local eligibility • All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront at the time of candidacy — post-offer RTO requests may not be considered • Background check required; facility does not accept background hits • 2 professional references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years (may include Charge RNs or Leads) Preferred Experience / Skills • Prior travel nursing experience in a PCU or Stepdown setting • Familiarity with intermediate care protocols and telemetry monitoring • Flexibility to adapt to varying unit needs, including floating to nearby sister facilities Why Join Us • Work in a dynamic acute care environment with opportunities to expand your clinical experience across multiple care settings • Communication devices required for the assignment may be provided at no cost to the traveler
