Job Title Registered Nurse – PACU Location Columbia, SC | Acute Care Hospital Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM) | One required late shift per week | One on-call shift per week | On-call weekends approximately every 6 weeks | Holiday call obligation may apply Key Responsibilities • Provide post-anesthesia care and monitoring to patients recovering from surgical or procedural sedation in a PACU setting • Assess and manage patient pain, airway, hemodynamic stability, and recovery progress in accordance with clinical protocols • Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe patient transitions • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using Epic electronic health records • Participate in on-call responsibilities as scheduled, including evening, weekend, and holiday call shifts • Respond to and support emergency response team assignments as required, including during hurricane season (June–November) Required Qualifications • Active South Carolina RN license or valid Multistate/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start date) • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required • Minimum 2 years of PACU or relevant RN experience • Epic EMR experience required • Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis • Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler Preferred Experience / Skills • Critical Care training or background strongly preferred • First-time travelers are welcome to apply • Familiarity with on-call workflows and flexible scheduling in a high-acuity surgical environment Why Join Us • Work in a well-established acute care hospital with a structured PACU team and scrubs provided by the facility • Parking is available at no cost, with convenient access to lots and garages near the facility
