Job Title Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Location Winston-Salem, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3 x 12-Hour Shifts (18:45–07:15) Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care on an overflow and ED holding unit serving general surgery and medical telemetry patients with various diagnoses requiring medical or surgical intervention • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry for a patient population requiring continuous telemetry oversight • Perform IV insertion and maintain IV access as part of routine patient care • Utilize unit systems including EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR communication framework • Float as needed to similar units, including an Extended Observation Unit (EOU) serving observation-level patients • Adhere to unit dress code: Navy Blue scrubs Required Qualifications • Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission) • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Medical Surgical or Telemetry • ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications required • Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring • Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start • Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are welcome to apply; a local pay rate will apply Preferred Experience / Skills • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred • Familiarity with EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR documentation systems • First-time travel nurses are accepted for this position Why Join Us • 24-hour unit orientation provided to support a smooth transition onto the unit • Opportunity to work in a dynamic overflow and ED holding environment with exposure to a diverse medical-surgical and telemetry patient population
