An established property management company in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Occupancy Specialist to join its team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with HUD and Section 8 regulations by managing tenant certifications, recertifications, and occupancy documentation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, enjoys working with documentation and deadlines, and is willing to learn navigating affordable housing programs. Responsibilities: Manage annual and interim tenant recertifications Ensure compliance with HUD, Section 8, and affordable housing regulations Process new move-ins, move-outs, and lease renewals Review and verify tenant income, assets, and supporting documentation Maintain accurate tenant files and compliance records Coordinate with property managers, leasing staff, and residents throughout the certification process Track recertification deadlines and ensure all documentation is completed on time Enter and maintain tenant information within RealPage and/or Yardi Breeze Respond to resident inquiries regarding occupancy and compliance requirements Assist with audits and file reviews Other duties as assigned Requirements: Willing to train but 2+ years of experience as an Occupancy Specialist or in affordable housing/property management is a plus Working knowledge of HUD, Section 8, and affordable housing regulations Experience completing tenant certifications and recertifications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience using RealPage and/or Yardi Breeze preferred Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
