Job Title Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery Location Lafayette, IN | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM Key Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care for labor, induction, scheduled and unscheduled C-sections, C-sections with salpingectomy, SROM, PPROM, hypertension, preeclampsia, antenatal, and triage patients • Operate and monitor equipment including CADD epidural pumps, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips wired and wireless monitoring, Periwatch, Hillrom labor beds, Draeger Radiant warmers, vein light, and V-scan • Utilize birthing and peanut balls as appropriate during patient care • Follow AWHONN staffing guidelines; expected ratios are 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active labor, and up to 1:3 for triage or antepartum patients, with flexibility during high-census periods • Float within the Mother-Child Health (MCH) unit or to affiliate facilities as needed — floating is required of all travelers • Charge RN responsibilities available for qualified candidates with charge experience Required Qualifications • Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience • Active Indiana RN license required — must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses are not accepted • Required certifications — all must be in hand at time of submission: BLS, ACLS, NRP, FHM • Charting experience with Cerner (no specific charting experience required) • Nursing degree from a program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation • Indiana residents are considered local and are not eligible for this position — candidates must reside outside of Indiana to apply Preferred Experience / Skills • Charge RN experience in a Labor and Delivery setting • Familiarity with Periwatch and/or Vigilance monitoring systems • Experience with AWHONN staffing guidelines and high-acuity obstetric patient populations Why Join Us • Work in a short-term acute care facility with a well-established Labor and Delivery unit that follows AWHONN staffing guidelines • Complimentary on-site parking available for staff
