Job Title Travel RN – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Location Asheville, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Alternating Weekends Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed CICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity) • Manage and titrate vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics • Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, IABP, CRRT, Impella, telemetry, and hypothermia devices • Interpret hemodynamics and assist with PA catheter setup and interpretation, including transvenous pacing and cardioversion • Document patient care using Cerner electronic health records • Float to other areas of the facility as needed per traveler float policy Required Qualifications • Active RN license valid for practice in North Carolina • Prior ICU experience required • Proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics • Experience with ventilators, tracheostomy care, and telemetry interpretation • Working knowledge of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation Preferred Experience / Skills • CCRN certification preferred • Experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT • Familiarity with procedures such as cardioversion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis • Experience with TEE and central line insertion procedures Why Join Us • Work in a specialized cardiac ICU environment utilizing advanced technology including IABP, Impella, CRRT, and hypothermia equipment • Opportunity to work alongside experienced ICU staff in a high-acuity, clinically rich setting
