Job Title Travel RN – Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Location Asheville, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week | Alternating Weekends Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU with patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1 (occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity) • Manage and titrate vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics • Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, IABP, CRRT, Impella, telemetry, and hypothermia devices • Perform hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation, transvenous pacing, and cardioversion • Assist with unit procedures such as central line insertion, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, EGD, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis • Document all patient care activities using Cerner; travelers are expected to float to all areas of the facility as needed Required Qualifications • Active RN license valid in North Carolina or a compact state • Prior ICU experience required • Demonstrated proficiency in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics • Experience with mechanical ventilators and tracheostomy care • Competency in telemetry interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring including PA catheter setup and interpretation • Ability to adhere to required dress code: all navy or navy and white scrubs (no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs) Preferred Experience / Skills • CCRN certification preferred • Experience with IABP, Impella, and/or CRRT highly desirable • Familiarity with TEE, cardioversion, and chest tube maintenance • Previous experience with Cerner documentation system Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a high-acuity cardiac ICU utilizing advanced technology and specialized equipment • Engage with a clinically complex patient population in a dynamic and fast-paced critical care environment
