Job Title Registered Nurse – SICU (ICU) Location San Antonio, TX | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Rotating Weekends | Expected 36 hours/week Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting • Perform and assist with procedures including chest tubes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes • Document patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system • Apply strong critical thinking skills to assess and manage complex, critically ill patients • Float to other units in accordance with facility floating policy as required • Adhere to punctuality and badging requirements, including a mandatory 30-minute lunch break Required Qualifications • Active Texas RN License required — temporary licenses will not be accepted • Minimum 2–3 years of ICU experience • ACLS certification required • BLS certification required • NIH Stroke Certification required • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to manage critically ill patients Preferred Experience / Skills • MICU or MSICU background • Experience with IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump) • Exposure to CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) • Prior experience with Meditech documentation system Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a high-acuity SICU environment within a well-established, full-service medical center serving a diverse patient population • Gain experience across a broad range of critical care procedures and specialties in a dynamic clinical setting
