Job Title Registered Nurse – Pediatric Emergency Room Location Saint Louis, MO | Acute Care (Children's Hospital) Schedule / Job Type Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Days/Nights (3x12 or 4x12) | Onsite | Day shift: 7:00–19:30 | Night shift: 19:00–7:30 | Every other weekend required Key Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a high-acuity emergency department setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center • Manage patient assignments at a ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 in a 32-bed unit • Perform and assist with conscious sedation procedures within the unit • Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC electronic health records • Maintain availability to work during designated holiday weeks per scheduling requirements • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team in a teaching hospital environment to deliver evidence-based pediatric emergency care Required Qualifications • Active RN license in Missouri or a qualifying compact state (pending license submissions may be accepted; compact license must match permanent residence state) • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting; first-time travelers are not accepted for this role • BLS certification required • PALS certification required • ACLS certification required • ENPC certification required • TNCC or ATLS certification required • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates within a 75-mile radius will not be considered Preferred Experience / Skills • Prior experience in a pediatric emergency or high-acuity pediatric setting • Familiarity with conscious sedation protocols in an emergency department environment • Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center or teaching hospital • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a nationally recognized children's acute care and teaching hospital with a dynamic, high-acuity pediatric emergency environment • Expected weekly hours of 36 (3x12) or 48 (4x12), providing a structured and consistent schedule throughout the contract
