Job Title Registered Nurse – Step Down / Immediate Care Unit Location Morgantown, WV | Step Down / IMC Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13 Weeks | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekdays with some weekends | Possible Extension Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / Immediate Care Unit setting with an expected nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies • Monitor and manage patients with varying acuity levels, including those who may be Progressive Care or Telemetry patients in larger facilities • Perform IV insertions and manage telemetry monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac strips • Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes Required Qualifications • Active WV RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission) • Minimum 2 years of RN experience overall; at least 1 year in Med/Surg or Telemetry and at least 2 years in a Step Down setting • BLS (BCLS) and ACLS certifications required — must be through the American Heart Association (AHA) • Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry monitoring, including ability to read cardiac strips • Candidates must have a permanent address more than 100 miles from the facility; candidates between 75–100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis Preferred Experience / Skills • Prior travel nursing experience is a plus, though not required • Familiarity with Cerner EMR • Experience managing patients with varying acuity levels in a Step Down or Progressive Care environment Why Join Us • Opportunity to work in a dynamic Step Down unit with potential for contract extension based on facility need • Blocked weekend scheduling (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) will be considered for eligible candidates
