Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for an Extrusion Operator Trainee. We are the only manufacturer that offers a complete system of cast iron, PVC, CPVC, ABS and FlowGuard Gold® pipe and fittings for residential and commercial plumbing systems and industrial applications. Summary: Extrusion Operator is responsible for running extrusion machines, packing and moving pipe to storage location. Each Operator is responsible for Safety 5S housekeeping of his/her machines and work area. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. • Starting up extruder, monitoring material flow, making adjustments to extruder and downstream equipment as needed. • Setting up cooling tanks and making required adjustments as needed. • Inspecting and identifying poor quality pipe using micrometer, pie tape, etc. • Monitoring pipe skin thickness. • Packing pipe per standards with strapping tool, weighing pipe and moving to designated storage area with forklift. • Assisting Maintenance personnel in repair of equipment. • Accurately completing production quality records. • Responsible for performing minor repairs on pipe racks, printers, etc. • Assisting coworkers and training new associates. • Keeping work area up to 5S housekeeping standards including operating sweeper as necessary.
