Plus, we'll sweeten the deal by paying for all expenses while in and traveling to and from Summit Station. Do we have your attention yet? Then apply now to take advantage of this seasonal opportunity to become an Arctic Construction Foreman - Senior Carpenter! ABOUT POLAR FIELD SERVICES, INC. We are a rare company. Since 1999, we've been taking our clients wherever they need to go, no matter how remote the location or challenging the conditions may be. We plan their expeditions, keep them safe in places that are anything but, and supply food, shelter, power, water, and waste removal. We then return the site to such a pristine condition no one would ever know we were there. We haven't been everywhere. Just a lot of places most people haven't. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ARCTIC CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN In this seasonal skilled trade position, you keep our team safe and warm by constructing and maintaining buildings at our remote field station. You coordinate and supervise a team of skilled trade craftsmen, working alongside them to complete jobs on time. Relying on your years of carpentry and building experience, you read blueprints, plan out projects, and complete material take-offs. Since you keep careful track of our inventory, you always know exactly which materials we have on hand. Throughout the projects, you create redlines and as-builts when needed. Working in a remote location presents unique challenges, but you've never been one to back down from a challenge. You're having the adventure of a lifetime! QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ARCTIC CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN We're looking for an adaptable person with great communication skills who has the following qualifications: • 6+ years of extensive carpentry experience, including design, rough framing, and finish carpentry • 2+ years as a carpentry foreman, lead, or supervisor • Experience working with and leading a diverse skilled trade team • Proficiency with Microsoft Office • Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety requirements • Ability to work in extreme temperatures • Willingness to drive a snowmobile and other polar vehicles • Valid passport and driver's license Experience working in remote, cold environments would be beneficial. Ironwork and structural steel building assembly experience would be an asset. Experience building commercial or industrial facilities is preferred but not required. Prior completion of accredited OSHA training courses and first aid training would be a plus! YOUR SCHEDULE AS AN ARCTIC CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN Deployments vary in length and usually occur between April through September. This seasonal skilled trade position works 54-hour weeks, Monday - Saturday. The schedule can vary based on weather conditions, and work requirements. ARE YOU READY TO LEAD A SKILLED TRADE TEAM? If you feel that you would be right for this seasonal supervisory job, please fill out our initial 3-minute, mobile-friendly application. We look forward to meeting you! Location: 80217 Job offers are contingent on the completion of a satisfactory background check and may include physical and dental examinations as required by the National Science Foundation.
