This role is hands on with design, development, modification, and analysis of various electronics systems including motor controller and power conversion applications for naval ships and submarines. Job Responsibilities • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed • Compile and evaluate design and test data • Analyze, develop, and recommend design approaches • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments • Provide regular reporting of progress and status • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field + at least 8 years of experience in design and product development • Knowledge of power electronics, power distribution, circuit board design, and/or semi-conductors is much preferred • Motivated and engaged; comfortable in a team environment but also okay with working independently sometimes U.S. Citizenship required.
