⚡ UX / Product Designer – Consumer FinTech 🌍 Remote 💲 $120,000 – $175,000 The Company Consumer FinTech business undertaking a major modernisation of its customer-facing product suite. With strong traction in a regulated financial-services environment, they’re investing heavily in both platform infrastructure and product experience, including a complete refresh of their mobile applications across iOS and Android. The Role This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit an established design function or spend your days making incremental tweaks to an existing system. The business has historically relied on engineers to own much of the product design work, and they’re now looking for someone who can bring structure, customer thinking, and strong execution to the experience. You’ll be the first dedicated design hire, partnering closely with Product and Engineering to rethink customer journeys, modernise interfaces, and build a design system that can support future growth. The opportunity suits someone who enjoys ownership and ambiguity. You’ll need to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, moving comfortably from identifying friction in an onboarding flow to designing the solution in Figma and supporting implementation alongside engineers. What you’ll be working on: • Leading the redesign and evolution of a customer-facing financial product across web and mobile • Owning the refresh of the company’s design system • Reviewing and improving onboarding, customer journey, payout, and account-management flows • Creating wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity designs, and production-ready assets in Figma • Working directly with front-end engineers during sprint planning, stand-ups, and implementation • Identifying UX opportunities through customer journey analysis and product discovery work • Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Marketing stakeholders • Helping establish best practices and shape the future direction of the design function What you’ll bring: • Strong hands-on UX or Product Design experience • Advanced Figma skills and a portfolio demonstrating shipped customer-facing products • Experience designing mobile products across iOS and Android • A track record of owning customer journeys from discovery through to delivery • Experience building or maintaining design systems • The ability to work directly with engineers and influence product decisions • Experience within FinTech, payments, financial services, remittance, earned wage access, consumer banking, lending, or similar regulated consumer products • Experience designing onboarding, verification, customer account, payment, checkout, or transaction-related workflows • Comfort operating in startup or scale-up environments where priorities can change quickly • A self-starter mentality with the ability to challenge assumptions and work independently Why this role?
