Job Title Registered Nurse – Step Down / IMC / PCU Location Memphis, TN | Acute Care / Level I Trauma Center Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36–48 hours/week; schedule subject to change based on staffing needs Key Responsibilities • Provide direct patient care in a Step Down / Med Surg Overflow / Neuro environment within a large, short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center • Function within a team nursing model with a ratio of 1:12, shared between RNs, LPNs, a medication nurse, and charge staff • Participate in on-call duties and weekend rotations as needed • Float between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius as operationally required • Adhere to all compliance, credentialing, and documentation requirements throughout the assignment • Be available to work at least 1–2 holidays if the assignment spans end-of-year holiday periods Required Qualifications • Active RN license in the state of Tennessee or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines — no pending licenses accepted • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Step Down, IMC, PCU, or a related specialty • Level I Trauma experience required • Large hospital experience required • At least 1 prior completed travel nursing assignment required • BLS certification required; any certifications expiring during the assignment must have a documented renewal plan at time of submission • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible — local travelers will not be considered • All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; RTO will not be accommodated after an offer has been made Preferred Experience / Skills • 3 or more years of experience in a Step Down or related specialty • EPIC electronic health record experience • Neuro patient care experience • ADN accepted; BSN preferred Why Join Us • Opportunity to gain experience at a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center within a large acute care hospital system • Team nursing model provides a collaborative, structured care environment with shared responsibilities across RNs, LPNs, and charge staff
