Role Overview: This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients, including assessment, medication administration, monitoring, and coordination of individualized treatment plans. The MS/Tele RN monitors cardiac rhythms and changes in patient condition, collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, and ensures safe, evidence-based care throughout the patient’s hospitalization. Requirements: • Required 1 year of experience. • Required 1 year of Epic charting experience. • Previous Charge Experience required. • Medication System: Omnicell. • Flu Vaccine Required – No Exemptions. • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TN active RN license. • Must have at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience. • Travelers must have at least one year of experience. Skills: • IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management • Respiratory: BiPAP/CPAP management, Chest tubes-Emerson/PleurEvac, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen administration, Oxygen tanks • Gastrointestinal • Genitourinary/Renal • Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident), Substance Withdrawal. • Medications: Heparin, Insulin, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, • Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Use of Rapid Response/Code teams. • Work settings: MS/Tele. • Isolation Precautions/PPE Special Procedures Details: • Inpatient unit for our stroke and TIA patients and higher acuity med-surg patients. • Peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
