Job Summary: The Manufacturing & Quality Engineer is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence and quality performance across HBK's production operations. This role supports the manufacture of highly precise sensing, data acquisition, and test & measurement products by improving processes, reducing waste, enhancing product reliability, and ensuring compliance with quality management system requirements. The Manufacturing & Quality Engineer partners closely with Production, R&D Engineering, Supply Chain, Calibration, and Quality teams to support new product introductions, resolve manufacturing challenges, improve yields, and deliver products that meet customer expectations for performance and reliability. Must be a US Citizen Key Responsibilities: Manufacturing Portion • Develop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for assembly, test, calibration, and inspection activities • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews during product development and new product introduction (NPI) activities • Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve throughput, efficiency, and first-pass yield • Design and implement tooling, fixtures, workstations, and process improvements • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions for manufacturing issues • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures • Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders to improve manufacturing capability and product quality Quality Portion • Support and maintain compliance with HBK's Quality Management System • Develop and maintain control plans, inspection methods, and quality standards • Lead investigations of nonconforming materials, customer complaints, and internal quality issues • Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) using structured problem-solving tools • Utilize quality tools including SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, Fishbone Analysis, and Pareto Analysis • Monitor and report key quality metrics including yield, scrap, rework, customer returns, and defect trends • Support internal, customer, and external quality audits • Ensure products meet applicable regulatory, customer, and industry requirements Continuous Improvement • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance quality and reduce operational costs • Facilitate Kaizen events and cross-functional improvement projects • Develop metrics and dashboards to measure operational and quality performance • Train production personnel on quality standards, process controls, and best practices Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related technical discipline • 3+ years of manufacturing and/or quality engineering experience in a high-tech, instrumentation, electronics, sensor, or precision manufacturing environment • 3+ years of experience with SAP system and manufacturing data analysis • Experience supporting manufacturing operations and quality systems in an ISO-certified environment • Experience with new product introduction (NPI) and process validation preferred • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies • Strong understanding of root cause analysis and CAPA processes • Experience with SPC, FMEA, MSA, and process capability analysis • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering data analysis tools Competencies: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities • Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment • Demonstrated ability to influence and work effectively across functions Preferred Qualifications: • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt • Experience with electronic assembly, sensor manufacturing, calibration, or precision instrumentation. • Experience with ISO 9001 quality systems. Compensation: The pay range for this position is $100,000 to $115,000 annually plus a potential yearly bonus of 10%.
