Description St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in West Dundee is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic part-time classroom aide to join our preschool team. Essential Job Functions: • Support the Teacher in providing developmentally appropriate early childhood education experiences across various subjects, including religion, art, music, literacy, science, and mathematics. • Assist in supervising activities that promote the health, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child, aligning with Diocesan goals and objectives. • Maintain a neat, safe, and organized classroom environment and assist in the upkeep of all educational equipment and materials. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Practicing Catholic preferred with knowledge of Catholic prayers, holidays, and teachings. • Ability to organize and coordinate work effectively with the teacher. • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and staff. • Commitment to self-evaluation and professional growth. • Professionalism in attire, communication, and demeanor. Job Summary: • Hours: Ranges from 2 to 3 Days per week, Full or Half Day Options • Position: Part-time, unbenefited • Pay rate range: $15 - $20 per hour • Benefits: Rockford Diocese Benefits PDF • Reports to: Classroom Teacher and School Principal Qualifications and Requirements: • High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or experience in childcare/education preferred. • Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. • Demonstrated patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with school staff. • Must pass a background check and meet all state and diocesan requirements for working with children. • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
