Description Global Compression Services (GCS) provides natural gas compression equipment, aftermarket parts, and field service support to upstream and midstream operators across the United States. GCS is transitioning into a standalone, private equity-owned platform and is building a scaled sales organization to support that growth. This is a technical sales role focused on instrumentation, controls, and automation solutions attached to GCS's compression equipment and aftermarket offerings, including compressor package controls, SCADA and remote telemetry, and automation retrofits. The role works closely with engineering to translate customer requirements into technical proposals, and partners with Regional Sales Managers and Account Managers to bring automation expertise into broader account strategies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Sell instrumentation and automation solutions, including package controls, SCADA/telemetry, remote monitoring, and PLC/automation retrofits, attached to GCS's equipment and aftermarket offerings. • Meet or exceed assigned revenue targets for automation and controls scopes of work. • Partner with engineering to scope customer automation needs and translate customer requirements into technical proposals. • Support Regional Sales Managers and GCS Account Managers by bringing automation expertise into broader account strategies. • Build relationships with customer engineering, operations, and controls personnel. • Stay current on automation and controls technology relevant to compression and gas processing. • Provide technical input into pricing and proposal development for automation scopes of work. Requirements Required Qualifications • Experience: 5+ years of technical sales experience in instrumentation, controls, or automation, ideally within oil & gas or industrial compression. • Knowledge Requirements: Working knowledge of PLC/SCADA systems, compressor package controls, and remote monitoring/telemetry; familiarity with GCS's equipment and aftermarket offerings. • Skills & Abilities: Ability to translate technical requirements into clear, customer-facing proposals; strong written and verbal communication with both technical and commercial audiences; consultative selling. Education Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience preferred. Travel Regular travel to customer sites, plants, and compressor stations across GCS's operating regions Physical Demands Regular travel to customer plants and compressor stations across GCS's operating regions. Standing, walking, and climbing at industrial sites; compliance with site safety and PPE requirements. Regular PC use for proposal development and CRM work. Leadership Expectations Serves as GCS's subject-matter resource on instrumentation and automation for the broader sales team; leads technical scoping efforts on cross-functional account pursuits.
