Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced CNC Operator / Machinist for a full-time day-shift opportunity in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a hands-on position in a job shop environment, not a production shop, and requires an experienced machinist who can independently set up, adjust, and operate CNC milling equipment to perform precision machining operations. POSITION OVERVIEW The CNC Operator will perform end-to-end machining work, including interpreting engineering drawings, determining machining sequences, selecting appropriate tooling and materials, setting up machines, monitoring feeds and speeds, making in-process adjustments, and verifying finished parts against required dimensions and tolerances. The ideal candidate brings significant hands-on CNC machining experience and a strong understanding of the setup and operation of CNC milling centers. Experience with Haas CNC Milling Centers is particularly valuable for this position. This role requires a self-directed machinist who can work with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the shop team. Candidates with directly comparable CNC milling-center experience may warrant consideration when they demonstrate advanced setup, independent operation, tooling, feeds/speeds, blueprint interpretation, program-editing, and inspection capabilities. EDUCATION NOTE: No formal college degree is required. Hands-on machining experience is the primary qualification. Technical certificates, apprenticeships, shop training, and equivalent on-the-job experience are acceptable. IMPORTANT: This is not a basic machine-operator or production-line position. Candidates must be experienced machinists capable of independently setting up CNC milling equipment and taking a job from blueprint interpretation through machining and dimensional inspection.
