WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: • Evaluate the current stability of the block or ledge. • Determine probable movement of the piece during the process. • Develop an appropriate fall prevention plan. • Position mobile power equipment in a safe location • Obtain safe access to the working surface – proper ladder height and usage. • Use all engineering control devices to reduce personal noise exposure levels • Use and maintain all dust control devices • Set the drill mast securely so as to assure straight quality holes • Understand all control functions and gauge readouts • Understand what is the proper amount of footage to put on a bit • Be able to handle drill rod of various drill rod lengths • Basic math skills with ability to accurately read tape measure • Understand sonar hole locating equipment • This position spends 100% of the time outdoors. Quarry conditions can vary from extreme summer heat to below zero cold, wind and rain. Opportunities for occasional work at other quarries may arise Requirements • This position requires traversing of rough terrain.
