Description Used Car Automotive Technician Location: Jim Shorkey CDJR/Mitsubishi in Austintown, OH Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary Jim Shorkey Youngstown is looking for a skilled and dependable Used Car Automotive Technician to join our service team. This role focuses on inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and reconditioning pre-owned vehicles to ensure they meet dealership and safety standards before sale. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and takes pride in delivering quality work. Key Responsibilities • Perform multi-point inspections on used vehicles • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns • Complete reconditioning work, including brakes, suspension, steering, engines, transmissions, and general repairs • Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filters, belts, hoses, and fluids • Document all work accurately and clearly • Communicate vehicle needs and repair recommendations to service advisors or management • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area • Follow dealership procedures and manufacturer guidelines What We Offer • Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) • Consistent workflow with strong car volume • Benefits package may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off • Modern facility and equipment • Supportive management and team-oriented culture • Opportunities for growth and advancement Requirements Qualifications & Requirements • Previous experience as an automotive technician (used car or reconditioning experience preferred) • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record • Own tools required • Pennsylvania State Inspection License (or ability to obtain) preferred • ASE certifications a plus, but not required
