Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic educator to provide personalized 1-on-1 instruction to students with ADHD and autism, as well as mentor neurotypical middle school students. This role is vital in fostering a supportive learning environment and promoting academic and personal growth. Responsibilities: • Deliver individualized educational sessions to students with ADHD and autism. • Mentor and support neurotypical middle school students in their academic and personal development. • Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning needs and styles. • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and adjusting strategies as necessary. • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and specialists to ensure cohesive support for each student's educational journey. • Create a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and participation. Required Skills: • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field. • Experience working with students with ADHD and autism. • Strong mentoring and interpersonal skills with a passion for working with middle school students. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to develop and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs. • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. We require a commitment of at least 15 hours/week for the full school year. A full time role may also be available for a qualified candidate. $33-$40/hour AJ Tutoring and Cypress College Prep are sister organizations that share space in downtown Menlo Park.
