We believe in self-determination, shared leadership, and person-centered support. About the Role This is a full-time remote/hybrid position that serves the central region of PA. Candidates must live near and be familiar with the following counties: Lancaster, York, Adams, Huntingdon, Cumberland, Mifflin, Centre, and Dauphin - and travel to these areas on occasion. This role supports people with disabilities and their families who choose to self-direct their services. Supports Brokers provide information, guidance, and technical assistance so individuals can access, organize, and use services and community resources that support a self-determined life. The role is shaped by the priorities and goals of each person receiving brokerage services. What You’ll Do While each Supports Broker role is uniquely defined by the individual supported, responsibilities often include: • Supporting best practices in employee and staff management • Promoting and protecting civil and personal rights • Working collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team • Partnering with individuals and families to support meaningful planning • Supporting responsible and effective use of public funding Requirements • Be at least 18 years of age • Hold a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record • Have reliable transportation Skills & Abilities Successful Supports Brokers demonstrate the ability to: • Work within a participative, shared-leadership environment • Self-direct their work and manage responsibilities independently • Collaborate effectively as part of a team • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing • Apply basic employment law principles, self-determination practices, and person-centered thinking and planning
