The Stevens Point Area YMCA is seeking responsible and enthusiastic Youth Sports coaches to teach basic skills and rules and create a positive and safe experience for all. This is more than just making the calls—it’s about being a mentor, role model, and motivator for young athletes while promoting the Y’s values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility. As a Youth Sports coach, you will: • Officiate youth sports games in accordance with YMCA policies and sport-specific rules. • Teach basic game skills, encourage good sportsmanship, and maintain a fun, safe environment. • Promote a positive and respectful attitude • Communicate with participants and parents • Inspect play areas for safety, enforce rules, and respond appropriately to injuries or emergencies. • Serve as a visible leader, role model, and resource for players, families, and volunteers. Requirements Skills & Experience: • Knowledge of youth sports rules and fundamentals (soccer, basketball, flag football, volleyball, etc.). • Experience working with children or in a youth sports setting preferred. • Strong communication and leadership skills. • Ability to remain calm, fair, and professional in all game-day situations. Certifications (required within 60 days of hire): • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Physical Requirements: • Ability to lift and carry equipment regularly. • Active, on-your-feet role—must be able to move easily around sports fields or courts.
