Description Burnett Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to work in our busy lab. We are currently offering a retention bonus of $7,500! SHIFT & HOURS: 0.95 FTE (76 hours per pay period) This position would be 7 days on, 7 days off. This includes 10-hour shifts on weekdays and 12-hour shifts on weekends. This is a night position. SUMMARY The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) performs moderate- and high-complexity laboratory testing in accordance with CLIA regulations. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely analysis of patient specimens, quality control, instrument maintenance, and result reporting. This position is responsible for testing in all of the following areas: phlebotomy, urinalysis, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, blood bank/transfusion services, and molecular testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Collect and process specimens using appropriate technique. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory analyzers and equipment. Perform quality control, proficiency testing, and participate in quality assurance activities. Recognize abnormal/critical values and follow notification protocols. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) from an accredited institution, required. Or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS/CLS, Biology, Chemistry, or related field), required. Qualified to work in a high complex laboratory, required.
