Responsibilities: • Oversees all waste disposals. • Trains staff in the proper procedures to maximize recycling and minimize trash disposal costs. • Ensures recycling bins are available and used in all predetermined areas. • Ensures all waste is dumped at pre-designated times into proper receptacles. • Maintains a log of what and how much is recycled, and reviews weekly with Chief Steward. • Reports recycling compliance issues to the Chief Steward. • Ensures that trash cans are cleaned on a daily basis. • Reports any recycle bins that need to be replaced. • Ensures that food waste is put through the pulper properly. • Oversees pulper use and reports any necessary issues to maintenance. • Maintains cleanliness and organization of recycling areas. • Provides exceptional customer service • Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations • Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests • Follows all relevant policies and procedures • Performs other duties as assigned. Competencies: • Must possess high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience • Must be able to speak, read and write English. • Previous kitchen worker experience preferred. • Knowledge of various cleaning equipment used in the cleaning industry preferred. • Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled • Must possess proficient communication skills. • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed • Must be able to successfully pass a background check • Must present an overall professional appearance and report to work in appropriate attire. • Must be detail-oriented and organized.
