Full description
2025-2030 Focus
Building on our previous documents and standards, particularly Chapter <11>, which already introduced digital reference standard concept. The goal is to explore how digital reference standards can serve as alternatives to physical reference standards, aligning with Chapter <11> while leveraging prior work on the broader scientific discussions within USP.
2025-2030 Key Issues
In recent years, the global scientific and regulatory communities have accelerated their transition toward digital transformation to enhance data integrity, reproducibility, and analytical efficiency. The USP, as a global leader in setting public standards, has recognized the growing need to complement its traditional physical Reference Standards (RS) with Digital Reference Standards (dRS) that provide machine-readable, verifiable, and interoperable analytical data. Following the published chapter <11>, a working team is needed to develop stimuli article and new chapter, including (1) Establishing Equivalence between Digital and Physical Reference Standards; (2) Exploring Specific Digital Reference Standard Modalities; and (3) Developing Practical Guidelines. This Subcommittee will also communicate with USP’s Emerging Standards Team closely.
