Responsibilities • Participate in Security briefing before each event • Monitor and report from assignment area • Communicate all security/crowd issues to Security Supervisor or Manager on Duty • Providing an outstanding customer experience by answering general facility and program questions, monitoring building reservations, directing members and guests to proper locations, educating patrons on building policies • Enforce policies and standards for the entire facility that are set forth by the department. • Serve as primary organizer in risk management situations to ensure all staff members are performing their responsibilities properly • Respond to all medical and non-medical emergencies • Ensure that all risk management measures have been taken • Continually monitor all facility activity and program areas • Responsible for cleanliness and organization of entire facility • Attend all staff meetings, monthly meetings and communicate as needed through emails, group messaging, telephone, and email • Assist in set up and break down duties as assigned • Follow and adhere to all procedures and guidelines • Other duties as required Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail • Authoritative verbal communication skills • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations • Ability to learn the layout of the property and buildings • Security guard training certification preferred • Excellent communication skills including active listening • Basic knowledge of computer skills with the ability to learn new software • Ability and willingness to enforce policies • Must be able to discuss, converse with, and exchange accurate information with patrons, staff, stakeholders, etc. Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment • Office and events environment • Non-smoking environment • Moderate to loud noise • Maintain flexible hours for events that occur on weekends and evenings Physical Demands • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 70% of the work day • Walking or working events • Must be able to traverse throughout the center • Must be able to lift, move and set up items weighing as much as 50 lbs. • Ability to patrol the property and access areas quickly • Physically able to capture and detain individuals if necessary Other Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
