Job Details Kettering Transportation Services | Kettering | Full Time | 12 hour nights Responsibilities & Requirements Job Specific Duties: The critical care RN functions as part of a team to provide direct patient care in mobile intensive care setting, with the assistance of other allied health professionals. They transport patients to a higher-level facility and provide advanced care to the most critical. This nursing role offers many unique opportunities for the ideal candidate, including: • 1:1 patient ratio • Progressive standing orders and medical scope of practice • Utilizes specialized equipment including Ventricular Assist Device, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), ECMO, and transport ventilators. • Plays an integral part in the regional Surgical Emergency Response Team (SERT), providing advanced surgical, stabilization, and transport capabilities for patients in the pre-hospital setting. This position offers opportunity for a two-week rotating schedule or a set three day per week schedule. Shifts are 12 hours in length and based out of our facility in Dayton, Ohio. Operational Duties: • Performs regular assigned shift duties. • Maintains cleaning standards of station(s), vehicle(s), and equipment. • Completes detailed patient and operational reporting, in a timely manner. • Participates in continuing education and skill competency programs • Acts as a preceptor and/or participates in orientation of new employees to cultivate culture and skillsets Education Requirements: • Current Ohio Nursing license • CPR, ACLS and PALS certification • Associates degree from accredited school of nursing, with Bachelor’s required within 5 years of employment • Recent nursing experience in an Emergency Department or Critical Care (ICU) setting • Pre-hospital certification and experience as an EMT or Paramedic preferred • Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and/or Critical Care Register Nurse (CCRN) preferred Overview Kettering Health is a not-for-profit system of 14 medical centers and more than 120 outpatient facilities serving southwest Ohio.
