Position Overview The staff accountant at Miller Electric is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing timely account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with state and local tax requirements. This role supports the month-end close process, prepares and files sales & use tax returns, manages personal property tax filings, and assists with general accounting functions to support organizational financial accuracy and integrity. Benefits • Medical and Dental (100% of the premium covered by Miller Electric) • 401k retirement with company matching • Vision plans • Disability Insurance • Basic and Supplemental Life Insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts • Travel Accident Insurance • Paid Vacation & Holidays • Tuition Reimbursement Program • College Coach Services Essential Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities • Prepare and complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. • Investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner. • Maintain organized documentation supporting all reconciliations. • Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes • Prepare journal entries with appropriate support. • Assist in preparation of audit schedules for external auditors. • Research tax law and answer internal tax questions related to on going projects. • Maintain a compliance calendar to manage deadlines and reduce penalty risk.
