SUMMARY: The Optics Manufacturing Technician will focus on performing Sub-Assembly of precise optics and laser modules with high quality, proficiency, and reproducibility according to standard operating methods. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Conducts sub-assembly bench tests to confirm module quality and performance • Responsible for peer review the assembly work of others and repair any minor defects in assembly workmanship • Confirm correct materials and appropriate quantities are used and report any discrepancies • Maintain Production records in the manufacturing facility environment • Follow guidelines, blueprints, and/or diagrams of the products being manufactured • Identify process improvements to help reduce cost and improve the quality of manufactured products • Assess Bills of Materials for accuracy and completeness • Maintains a clean/safe work area and reports any safety hazards to supervision • Knows and observes all quality and GMP standards at each operation within the assigned department • Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Field Preferred, but not Required. High School Diploma or GED accepted if meeting experience qualifications • At least 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Technician or comparable Technical role preferably with precise optical mechanical devices • Ability to competently use hand tools with mechanical devices • Must be able to read, write and understand English • Experience using the Windows OS, MSOffice Applications, Engineering Change Order Systems, Device History Records, and creation of Assembly Procedures, Reports, and Bills of Materials • Ability to follow written directions and the ability to work independently • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin desired • Familiar with product development cycle from concept design to production PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
