Overview Participates as a member of the OR team, preparing for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, assisting in surgery and maintaining surgical suites. Responsibilities • Shares in OR suite cleaning, preparation, use and maintenance of specialized equipment & supplies used for surgical procedures. • Maintains sterilization techniques and disposal of hazardous waste. • Uses surgical instruments and knowledge of the step-by-step sequences for surgical procedures. • Handles surgical specimens. • Files and copies path and procedure chart reports. • Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED required. • Graduate of a Surgical Technology School or program recognized by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred. • 2 years of experience as a surgical technologist • Knowledge of Orthopaedic, GYN, and General Surgery preferred. • Currently Registered with the New Hampshire Board of Registration for Medical Technicians Required Licensure/Certifications REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • (BLS) Basic Life Support
