What You’ll Do: As our Power Systems Model Engineering Intern, you’ll contribute to the accuracy and reliability of MISO’s grid models by supporting model validation, data mapping, and process improvements across our Modeling team — helping keep the datasets that power system reliability and market operations accurate for 45 million people across the U.S. and Canada. You’ll gain hands-on experience with: • Industry-standard modeling tools like Siemens’ CIM-based Model Manager and GE’s Energy Management System (EMS) • Coding and automation (Python, C++, or Perl) to streamline model validation and data cleanup • Real-world projects such as improving modeling workflows, resolving data mapping issues, or supporting MISO’s custom modeling applications — the specific focus depends on your team assignment A Great Day in This Role Means: Depending on your team, you might validate model data, help resolve a mapping issue between systems, or improve the workflow the Modeling team relies on every day.
