As an Advocate with Youth Advocate Programs (YAP), you will work directly with individuals and families throughout Mercer County, helping them access resources, build on their strengths, and achieve their goals. Status: Part Time Hourly FLSA classification: Non-Exempt Summary of the Position: Hourly, Part-Time positions working with youth and families are available in Mercer County. • Serve as a positive role model for youth by demonstrating dependability, commitment, and professionalism in interactions. • Initiate, organize, coordinate, and implement advocacy services for assigned participants and their families. • Develop and implement individualized service plans based on strengths-based, wrap-around approach • Foster meaningful relationships with participants to support growth, goals, and success across home, school, and community settings • Provide truancy advocacy and support services to help youth and families to address challenges, increase school engagement, and have positive educational outcomes. • Community-based work • Connect participants and families with community resources and supports that promote stability and independence. • This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, and activity reimbursement. Qualifications/Requirements: • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required. • Associates or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. • Must be at least 18 years of age • Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources. • Must be extremely organized • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office are preferred. • Must be professional, flexible, and have the ability to work independently • Must be available evenings and weekends (Flexible, Non-Traditional Hours) • Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance coverage. • Bilingual/Spanish speaking is a plus.
