This position will initially be hired through a staffing agency on a temporary basis with opportunity for permanent hire after 90 days. Summary: A General Assembler is responsible for operating equipment in a factory or warehouse and preparing items for distribution. Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-product products such as valves for plumbing and heating purposes by performing the following duties: Responsibilities: · Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approve specifications and quality standards · Places parts in specified relationship to each other · Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together · Tends machines, such as automated machinery, to perform operations on assembly line · Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to be familiar with all assembly · Communicate with other stations on the assembly line to ensure maximum speed and accuracy · Routinely practice 6s (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) · Ensures that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials · Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste · Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment · Reports issues or problems with production (equipment defects) to immediate Supervisor · Observe and removes fault product parts from assembly line · Other duties as assigned. Attends required safety training and participates in safety exercises · Develops and maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers · Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity Skills: · Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms · Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel components or using controls on an assembly machine · Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, 15 pounds, & 20 pounds · Required to stand on feet for long periods of time · Often performing repetitious motions
