Licensed Veterinary Technician 📍 Burke, VA 💲 $25–$30 per hour 🕒 Part-Time | Weekends Required | Additional Hours Available Are you a Licensed Veterinary Technician looking for a supportive team where your skills and experience are valued? Burke Animal Clinic is looking for an LVT to join our team and provide excellent patient care while supporting our doctors and clients. What You Bring to the Table • Active Virginia LVT license • Graduate of an accredited Veterinary Technology program • Previous veterinary experience preferred, but we’re open to the right candidate • Strong patient-handling and technical skills • Comfortable assisting with appointments, procedures, surgery, anesthesia, and patient care • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and teammates • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Your Role in the Pack As an LVT, you’ll work closely with our veterinarians and team to provide high-quality care throughout each patient’s visit. Your responsibilities will include: • Assisting veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures • Performing physical assessments and monitoring patients • Administering medications, injections, and fluids • Preparing and monitoring patients for surgery and anesthesia • Placing IV catheters and managing IV pumps • Collecting samples and assisting with laboratory diagnostics • Positioning patients and taking radiographs • Maintaining accurate medical records • Caring for hospitalized and recovering patients • Preparing and maintaining treatment, exam, and surgical areas • Providing client education regarding medications, home care, follow-up, and preventive care • Preparing medications and prescriptions accurately • Supporting a clean, organized, and safe hospital environment • Working collaboratively with doctors, technicians, assistants, and the rest of the hospital team Schedule This is a part-time position, and weekend availability is required. Additional hours may be available with one of the following schedules: Option 1: Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 10:30 AM–7:00 PM Saturday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM Sunday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM Option 2: Saturday: 8:00 AM–3:00 PM Sunday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday: 10:30 AM–7:00 PM If you're looking for a team where you can use your LVT skills, continue growing, and make a difference for pets and their families, we'd love to hear from you!
