You will be responsible for monitoring patient progress, managing medical records, and ensuring a safe and comforting environment for young patients. Collaboration with healthcare providers and staff to coordinate care plans and follow-up treatments is essential to optimize patient outcomes. Ultimately, your work will contribute to promoting the health and well-being of pediatric patients through compassionate, evidence-based nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting. Preferred Qualifications: • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. • Experience working in an outpatient pediatric or primary care setting. • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems used in pediatric practices. • Additional certifications in child health or family nursing. Responsibilities: • Perform initial patient assessments including vital signs, growth measurements, and developmental screenings. • Administer vaccines and medications as prescribed by the pediatrician, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. • Provide education and counseling to parents and caregivers on topics such as nutrition, disease prevention, and managing common childhood illnesses. • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting clinical findings, treatments, and follow-up care instructions. • Assist pediatricians during examinations and procedures, preparing the examination room and necessary equipment. • Coordinate patient scheduling and follow-up appointments to ensure continuity of care. • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the pediatrician promptly. • Adhere to infection control standards and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment. Skills: The required skills such as clinical assessment, immunization administration, and patient education are utilized daily to ensure high-quality pediatric care and support the pediatrician's treatment plans. Strong communication skills enable effective interaction with young patients and their families, fostering trust and understanding. Organizational skills are essential for managing patient records, coordinating appointments, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Preferred skills like proficiency with electronic health records streamline documentation and improve workflow efficiency. Additionally, advanced certifications and pediatric experience enhance the nurse's ability to respond to emergencies and provide specialized care tailored to children's unique health needs.
