The Patient Care Associate supports the registered nurse in patient care activities, such as: assisting patient with activities of daily living, collecting specimens and performing procedures; maintaining a safe, clean environment; and other duties as needed. Nursing Attendant The Nursing Attendant is an individual who functions in a support role to the Registered Professional Nurse by providing direct patient care and related activities as assigned. Patient Care Associate • Education Requirements • Work requires a high school level of knowledge (graduate or equivalent) in order to prepare reports, keep records and deal effectively with people. • Experience Requirements • Three to nine months of healthcare experience preferred. Venipuncture and EKG skills required. • Licensing and Certification Requirements (if applicable) • Certificate of Medical Assistant training or equivalent. • Heartsaver Certification from American Heart Association and/or BCLS. Nursing Attendant • Requirements: • High School Diploma or equivalent • Completed training as a medical assistant or nursing • Prefer relevant experience in an inpatient health care setting • American Heart Association Heartsaver or BLS Certification required • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English in a clear and concise manner. • Visual and aural acuity to assess patient within parameters of job responsibilities. • Communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals. • Oriented to consumer satisfaction.
