The Department of Criminal Justice and the Institute for National Security and Military Studies at Austin Peay State University are continuously taking applications for individuals seeking adjunct, or temporary instructor positions for all semesters. Instructors are needed both in person and online for all areas including, but not limited to, Intelligence Analysis, Research Methods, Security Analysis, National Security Foundations and Strategy, International Security Dynamics, Military Studies and Defense Policy, and International Law, Ethics, and Human Rights. The Department of Criminal Justice offers a Bachelor’s and a Master of Science in criminal justice, each with an optional concentration in homeland security. The department also hosts the bachelor degree in National Security Studies. The program enrolls about 40 undergraduate majors. The Department of Criminal Justice offers courses through diverse delivery methods, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid/blended formats. The Department of Criminal Justice is among the University’s largest. The position’s responsibilities include teaching courses as assignedby the chair. Physical Requirements Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Required Minimum Qualifications • Master’s degree in National Security Studies, Intelligence Studies, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, or other related fields is required; A Master’s degree in a related field must accompany 18 hours of graduate work in the area of national security • A background search will be required of the successful applicant. Desired Qualifications • An ability to teach a wide range of national security studies courses • Demonstrated experience teaching across various delivery methods (online, hybrid, face-to-face, etc.) Required Documents 1.
